Barbara Patton
As an art educator for 25 years, Barbara was always looking for new ways to approach the art experience. After taking a workshop on alternative firing techniques for ceramics, she was hooked. It was both captivating and challenging to perfect and obtain an ideal finished piece. Her work is fired quickly with a rush of flame, smoke and excitement.
Joan C. Gluck
Joan lives in Miami, Florida and the Berkshires. She grew up in Philadelphia where she took classes at the Graphic Sketch Club and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. She studied art at Tyler Art School, IS183 in Stockbridge, University of Miami, and Miami Dade College. She is a current member of the Guild of Berkshire Artists. Her work is in private collections all over the US, including those of Audra McDonald and Seiji Ozawa.
Jordan Stone
Born and raised in Berkshire County, my artistic practice is an intuitive exploration of color and form, born from a deep connection to the natural beauty of the Berkshires. As a self-taught acrylic fluid artist and abstract painter, I embrace the unpredictable nature of flow, allowing vibrant hues to mingle and merge on the canvas. Through the strategic use of stencils, I introduce moments of deliberate structure within the fluidity, creating a dynamic interplay between chance and intention.
Melissa Scheid Frantz
Melissa Scheid Frantz is an abstract realism artist based in Western Massachusetts. While living in Brattleboro, Vermont, she received guidance and mentorship through painting classes at the River Gallery.
Brent Ridge
Brent Ridge is a Berkshires-based artist whose work delves into themes of industrial decay, natural beauty, and human resilience. With an MFA from the Glasgow School of Art and a decade of the vibrant art scenes of Brooklyn, NY and Boston, MA, Ridge brings a unique perspective to his art- local, global, rustic and urban.
Janet Pumphrey
Janet Pumphrey’s traditional, representational photographs span the genres of portraits and street photography, vintage and sports cars, travel, landscapes, and wildlife; moving beyond the inherent realism in traditional photography to see the world in a new and more creative way. Her work is painterly, sometimes abstract, sometimes impressionistic. Each piece is a unique, creative interpretation of a realistic image.
Melanie Mowinski
Melanie Mowinski likes paper and what goes ON paper. She likes the visceral and paper becomes a vessel on which she prints, collages, constructs, and more. She draws inspiration from the landscape of her Berkshire Hills home and residencies/travels to places like Iceland, Morocco, Tasmania, Venice, and most recently, from along the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Mowinski embraces measurement and precision in the letterpress process as well as going rogue and making crazy lock-ups with super powerful magnets.
Jill McLean
Jill McLean is an artist from Pittsfield. After earning a degree in Interior Design at Endicott College, she returned to Berkshire County in 2008 and soon shifted her career back to art. Working full time as an Art Director with local company Lymphedivas since 2011, she does illustration, surface pattern design, and product photography by day and develops her own work as an artist on the side.
Michael P. Kusek
Michael Kusek is both an artist and STEAM enthusiast! Mr Kusek has been working as an engineer in Pittsfield for nearly 20 years, originally holding degrees in computer science and math. More recently, Michael decided to pursue his childhood interest and returned to college to earn a studio art degree.
Karen Khan
Karen Khan is currently working on a Reflection Series of drawings and paintings that explore expanding the thinking of Contemporary Realism. She juxtaposes every day objects abstractly into compositions. Her work has been shown in The Goforth Rittenhouse Gallery, Philadelphia and The Mendelshon Gallery in Pittsburgh.
Ellen Joffe-Halpern
I have lived and worked in the Berkshires for over fifty years as an artist, expressive arts therapist, and teacher. I began painting with Wallace Bassford, an American Impressionist, while managing the North Truro School of Art. I received a BFA from UMass Amherst and a M.Ed in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley College.
Scott Henderson
My interest in art began in high school and has since guided much of my creative journey, including a career in architecture. Drawing has long been a tool for me, one that helps me understand, explore, and communicate ideas. While living in Italy from 2004 to 2008, I became more intentional about using art as a means to capture the beauty, complexity, and emotion of my surroundings.
Katherine Haig
Raised in the Berkshires, and inspired by local art and nature, Katherine is a self taught artist, and local community organizer.
Diane Firtell
Not a photographer…. but an artist who uses a camera, almost all of Diane's work has originated from the photograph. Making art; a mystery to some, a mandate to others. While she clearly fall into the latter category, the “why” often remains a mystery. "What is there for me to do that is different?”.
Peg Dotchin
I work in oils and pastels. A deep love of nature and the added benefit of living in the Berkshires helps fuels my painting experience.
James Badore
Jamie is a retired, visually impaired self taught watercolor artist obsessed with landscapes and botanicals. He has recently begun painting Plein Air (outdoors, on location) with a local group and on his own. He is starting a journey learning Encaustic (painting with melted wax pigments).
Kara Anton
From her earliest memories, Kara Anton was immersed in the captivating world of the arts. By five, she was mesmerized by Pablo Picasso's bold strokes and fearlessly began painting on large canvases, creating works three-times her size. Born in Royal Oak, Michigan and raised in Laguna Beach, California, Kara embarked on a lifelong love affair with creativity.
Danielle Allison
Danielle is a self-taught artist with a home business DAFoxDesigns. She went to school for Psychology and graduated from MCLA with a BA in Behavioral Analysis in 2020. She works primarily in acrylic paints on canvas and aspires to become an art therapist. Danielle's life goal is to use her art to help others reach a deeper understanding of themselves and others.
Terry Wise
Terry Wise has evolved into being a painter by way of a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Textile Design from Indiana University, studies in printmaking and painting, and lots of experimentation in various forms of design and illustration.
