Ellen Joffe-Halpern
I have lived and worked in the Berkshires for over fifty years as an artist, expressive arts therapist, and teacher. I began painting with Wallace Bassford, an American Impressionist, while managing the North Truro School of Art. I received a BFA from UMass Amherst and a M.Ed in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley College. I have exhibited extensively throughout New England in solo and group exhibits. I work out of my studio in the Norad Mill, 102a (visitors welcome) in North Adams and feel very fortunate to live in the Berkshires. I generally work from on-site sketches and then transform what I see and experience into color, shape, pattern and line.
